Ajmer 

The name of the city comes from the word Ajay Meru. It can be translated to invincible hills. It’s a reference to the Aravalli Hills which surround the city. Ajmer was the epicenter of the mighty Chauhan Dynasty. It was founded by Raja Ajaypal Chauhan in the 7th century AD. Later on, it became the center of many other dynasties like the Mughals. Today, the city stands as a symbol of beauty, history, and unity. It is revered by Hindus and Muslims alike. There are lots of places to visit in Ajmer. Two of them are as follows: 

Lake Foy Sagar 

Lake Foy Sagar was built in the 19th century by Mr. Foy. He was an engineer. It was mainly built as a way to combat famine. The lake offers a beautiful view of the Aravallis and is the place for watching a glorious sunset. 

Daulat Bagh 

Daulat Bagh is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ajmer. It attracts a huge number of tourists during summer. Located beside Ana Sagar Lake, Daulat Bagh was built by Jahangir. The pavilion made up of marble is one of the primary attractions inside the complex.
